Fragrance Perfume

Fragrance is often used interchangeably with perfume, but they’re not quite the same thing – fragrance is the scent of the perfume and perfume is the product itself.
Being an overweight teen, I have been open to the scrutiny of some people who feel it is OK to judge others and stare and whisper.

I am one of those teens who has been overweight most of my teenage years, but I am working toward being more comfortable with who I am and not worry so much of how others see me. So far, I have made great progress and regardless of my weight, I have been surrounded by great friends and family who accept me for who I am. What has helped me a lot is to do the things I love doing that make me feel good about myself. It wasn’t that long ago that I started gaining an interest in makeup, purses, beautiful clothes, and fragrances that make people say, “Wow, love your outfit and you smell good” rather than “Wow, have you gained weight?” Although I love it when someone tells me I have beautiful clothes. But nothing makes me feel better than when someone tells me I smell really good! I don’t know why that is the one thing that makes me feel on top of the world, but it is. I also like to spread that "good feeling" to those I love, like my brother and my dad by giving them cologne gift sets on special holidays since, in my opinion, there is no such thing as having too many fragrances. |
Although my primary motive is to smell good, I also like to have fun with my perfume. Sometimes I will use the same fragrance for the week and then other times I alternate from day-to-day.
I love it when I sit in class and my classmates ask me “what kind are you wearing today?” I suppose you could say I’m a walking perfume sample because my classmates will come up to me and say things like, “I bought the Jessica McClintock perfume you were wearing the other day and I love it.”
That makes me feel really good, especially when they think I’m wearing a women’s perfume that I spent a ton of money on when in all actuality I made my purchase from a discount fragrance website.
When you make as many perfume purchases as I do working an after school job, something has to be done to curb the cost and wholesale perfumes is the way I do that.
Because of my love of fragrances, I'm really surprised that I haven’t been deemed “Fragrance Girl” in the yearbook.
Anyone who knows me, knows I wear certain fragrances for holidays, special occasions and for certain events. In my opinion, this allows for that particular day to be remembered better.
My Psychology teacher once said that a lot of our memory is associated with our senses, especially smell.
I figure that I'm not only contributing to my own memory but the memories of those around me. I just discovered the designer fragrance, Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker it suggests that loveliness is everywhere and that is how I feel when I wear it.
